White Pine Press Poetry Prize

The White Pine Press Poetry Prize is an annual poetry book competition hosted by White Pine Press, a publisher based in Buffalo, New York. The prize is awarded to a full-length poetry manuscript. Winning titles are published as part of the White Pine Press Poetry Prize Series.

Manuscripts must be between 60 and 80 pages. All poems must be original. Individual poems may have appeared previously in magazines, anthologies, or chapbooks. Translations are not eligible. Entries are submitted by post. Manuscripts are not returned.

The winner receives $1,000 and publication of their collection by White Pine Press. Entries are screened by the press’s editorial staff. The final selection is made by a poet of national reputation, whose name is announced at the end of the competition. The final judge alternates each year between a male and a female poet.
