Writing Magazine Grand Flash Prize

The Writing Magazine Grand Flash Prize is a flash fiction competition hosted by Writing Magazine. Stories can be up to 500 words.

The competition is open to any writer. Entries must be original and unpublished. They must not be submitted for publication or to any other competition or award while under consideration. There is no limit on the number of entries. Writing Magazine subscribers can enter at a reduced rate of £16.

The winner receives £1,000 and publication in Writing Magazine or on the Writers Online website. The runner-up receives £200 and publication on the website. Judges are appointed by Writing Magazine.

Winners will be notified within two months of the closing date. Writing Magazine keeps the right to publish winning entries for twelve months after that.
