Following another successful year, we’re pleased to announce the launch of the £1,000 Writing Magazine Grand Flash Prize 2023. This open competition invites your short stories in any form, on any topic.

The only stipulation is that your story should be a maximum 500 words.

Stories will be judged by the Writing Magazine editorial team and the winner published in Writing Magazine in 2024.

We are keen to encourage quality submissions, so suggest writers to check their stories before submitting using Prowritingaid.
