The Ouroborealis Poetry Prize is run by The Columbus Review, a newly launched non-profit experimental literary magazine, for its inaugural issue. Entrants respond to the theme “Metamorphic Outliers,” which the organiser describes as a creative lens rather than a literal subject to write about.
Poems must be previously unpublished, one poem per file per entry, and should fit comfortably on a single page: a minimum of 5 lines and a maximum of 40. Multiple entries are permitted, and simultaneous submissions are accepted provided the organiser is notified promptly if the poem is accepted elsewhere.
The prize pool starts at $50 and grows with each entry fee received. The grand prize winner receives 60% of the pool and the honorable mention 20%, with both winning poems published in the magazine’s next issue.
Winners are notified February 2027. Public announcement March 1, 2027.
