Reedsy Novel Sprint 2026

The Reedsy Novel Sprint is a free, month-long writing challenge taking place throughout November 2026. Writers are invited to work toward drafting 50,000 words of a novel over 30 days, with a program designed to help them stay motivated and make consistent progress from the first page to the end of the month.

Participants receive access to free live workshops and writing sprints covering topics such as story structure, outlining, opening chapters, character development, navigating the middle of a novel, and finishing a first draft. The challenge also includes regular check-ins and opportunities for writers to connect with other participants, share their progress, and celebrate milestones throughout November.

Three winners will receive cash prizes of $5,000, $2,500, and $1,000 respectively, along with the opportunity to meet with a literary agent.

The Novel Sprint is hosted by Reedsy, a publishing marketplace and platform that connects authors with professional editors, designers, marketers, ghostwriters, and other publishing professionals. Reedsy also develops Reedsy Studio, a writing and planning platform designed to help authors draft, organize, and prepare their books for publication.

Participation in the Reedsy Novel Sprint is free and open to writers looking to make significant progress on a novel during November.
