2027 Rattle Chapbook Prize

The Rattle Chapbook Prize is an annual poetry chapbook competition hosted by Rattle, a quarterly US poetry magazine. Each year, three winning chapbooks are published and sent to every Rattle subscriber with issues of the magazine.

Manuscripts must be 15 to 30 pages of poetry. Poems must be written mainly in English. Translations are accepted only if they are the poet’s own. Individual poems may have been published before, but the manuscript must not have been published as a collection. Simultaneous submissions are allowed, and multiple entries are accepted, each with a separate fee.

Each of the three winners receives $5,000 and 500 author copies of their chapbook. Their chapbooks are also distributed to Rattle’s 10,000+ subscribers. At least one winner will be a poet who has not yet professionally published a full-length poetry book of more than 48 pages.

The entry fee includes a one-year subscription to Rattle, or a three-quarter-year subscription for international entrants. Winners will be announced on 15 April 2027.
