Never Such Innocence Poetry Competition 2026/27

The Never Such Innocence Poetry Competition is an international poetry competition for young people hosted by Never Such Innocence, a UK registered charity. It forms part of the organisation’s annual International Competition, which also includes art and short film categories.

The 2026/27 theme is “Through My Eyes”. Entrants are invited to share their own unique perspective of war and conflict. They are asked to consider what has shaped this view, such as their experiences, nationality, heritage, gender, proximity, age and education.

Each poem must respond to the theme. Poems must be the entrant’s own original work. They may be written in any language, and can be typed or neatly handwritten. Entrants may submit one poem. The competition is aimed at young people aged 9 to 18. Entrants outside this age range may submit work but are not eligible to win.

Winners have their work published in a digital booklet. They also receive an NSI prize pack and are invited to take part in special opportunities.

Winners will be announced by 5 May 2027.
