This annual prize invites poets to respond to the 2026 theme — Joy — with original, unpublished work that captures the theme’s depth and resonance.
Entrants must submit one poem of up to 500 words written in English. The competition is international and open to writers aged 18 or over. Submissions are judged anonymously, and multiple entries are permitted provided each is a separate submission and fee is paid.
Prizes:
- 1st Prize: £3,000
- 2nd Prize: £1,000
- 3rd Prize: £1,000
Winners and runners-up gain recognition from the Alpine Fellowship community and may be invited to the foundation’s annual symposium celebrating writing, arts, and humanities.
