Event Details

The Arizona Authors Association is a 501c3 nonprofit established in 1978. The annual literary contest features multiple categories including OLDIE BUT GOLDIE, which accepts submissions of published (including self-published) works that are less than 50 years old. Some treasures from the past should be saved from oblivion, and the Arizona Authors Association helps authors to revitalize and re-energize neglected works.

Other categories include children’s books, fiction, nonfiction, unpublished and more.

The contest has awarded prizes and recognized authors for the past four decades.

Works in each main category (Unpublished, Published, Published Youth) will be awarded a First, Second, Third and Fourth Prize. Best of Category prizes will be chosen from remaining entries after all other prizes are awarded. One prize per title; twenty-four total prizes available.

We are keen to encourage quality submissions, so suggest writers to check their stories before submitting using Prowritingaid. They have free and paid versions and are the best writing software we know to help improve grammar, readability and check for repetition, ‘sticky’ sentences and suggest alternatives.
