Founded in 2019, the competition connects emerging authors directly with the industry professionals who actively publish, manage, and option dark fiction for the screen.

To give submissions the highest level of validation, work is evaluated by an elite jury that includes legendary author and producer Tananarive Due (The Twilight Zone, Horror Noire), literary manager John Zaozirny (Bellevue Productions), and genre icon Barbara Crampton.
