Not Quite Write Prize for Flash Fiction

The Not Quite Write Prize for Flash Fiction is an international writing event that challenges writers to create an original piece of flash fiction based on two typical writing prompts plus one anti-prompt. Participants will compete for AU$4,000 in cash prizes, including AU$1,500 for the winner, a trophy, and a publishing contract. The competition is open to writers of all levels of experience worldwide.

When the competition kicks-off, the prompts will be announced by email. Entrants will receive details about how and where to submit their entry when the competition opens.

Participants have 60 hours to write up to 500 words in response to 2 prompts and 1 anti-prompt.

There is a total prize pool of AU$4,000 up for grabs in each round of the competition. The top 6 stories are read aloud on the podcast and published on the Not Quite Write website and receive a publishing contract for the Not Quite Write Prize anthology (Print and eBook).

The next round of the competition commences at midday Friday 23 October AEDT (Sydney, Australia time). Entrants have until midnight (11:59PM) Sunday 25 October AEDT to submit a 500-word piece of original fiction in response to the given criteria.
