ISAC International Lyric Competition

The ISAC International Lyric Competition is an annual contest for original song lyrics, hosted by Ise-Shima Art Company in Japan. The organiser also runs several international music and composition competitions. The 2027 edition is the second lyric competition. It recognises lyrics that combine creativity, poetic expression, and musicality.

Lyrics of any genre and length are accepted, in any language. An English or Japanese translation is optional. Previously published lyrics and lyrics that have won awards elsewhere are eligible. There are no age or nationality restrictions.

Entries are judged mainly on effective use of language and the quality of poetic expression. The jury also considers stress, rhyme, form, line use, originality, and vocabulary.

The Grand Prize is JPY 50,000 and a certificate. Special Prize certificates are awarded to up to about 35 entrants. Results are scheduled for 5 May 2027.
