The Creative Future Writers’ Award (CFWA) is a national writing development programme which celebrates talented, underrepresented writers who lack opportunities due to mental health issues, disability, identity, health or social circumstance.
The event is open to any underrepresented writer over 18, living in the UK, who has not published a book in a literary genre. There is no entry fee.
Prizes are awarded for poetry, fiction and creative non-fiction, including cash & professional writing development opportunities.
The theme of the competition is Reveal.
Fifteen prize winners are given the opportunity to develop their work through £23,000 of prizes in training, mentoring, assessment and coaching.
Winning submissions are also published in an anthology alongside work by other guest authors, available in hard copy and as an e-book.
We are keen to encourage quality, so suggest writers to check their stories before submitting using Prowritingaid. They have free and paid versions and are the best writing software we know to help improve grammar, readability and check for repetition, ‘sticky’ sentences and suggest alternatives.
