Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers offers encouragement and opportunity to writers in all genres through its annual contest, the Colorado Gold Rush Literary Awards. The Gold Rush contest is for unpublished authors of commercial, novel-length fiction, in categories from mainstream fiction to romance to horror.

Entry in the contest requires a 3,000 word excerpt and a synopsis. Prizes include cash, public recognition during the annual Colorado Gold Conference in Denver, trophies and certificates and private meetings with VIP judges (editors and agents).
