Amazing Women’s Edition Contest

The Amazing Women’s Edition is a youth literacy contest run by the National Youth Foundation (NYF), a US-based nonprofit focused on diverse youth literacy. This year’s theme is “Local Heroines,” inviting student participants to write and illustrate an original book celebrating women who have made a positive impact in their communities.

Entrants must be students in grades K through 8 living in the United States, working either individually or in teams of up to 22 students. Each entry is a self-made illustrated book of 20–30 pages (excluding optional cover, dedication, and back pages), submitted by post on 8½”×11″ or 9″×12″ paper along with a signed entry form (requiring both student and parent/guardian signatures). Both text and artwork must be created solely by the students, and only one book entry is allowed per person.

The prize structure isn’t stated in cash terms; rather, based on past testimonials on the organiser’s page, winning students have their book published by the National Youth Foundation and featured in the NYF Library of past winners, with past student participants describing becoming “a published artist” as the reward.
