Event Details
The Tupelo Press 2026 Summer Open Reading Period is a poetry manuscript submission window for full-length and chapbook-length collections. Submissions are accepted for publication consideration rather than judged as a contest. The press selects manuscripts it wants to publish and typically builds much of its annual catalogue from this reading period.
Eligible manuscripts include book-length poetry collections (48–90 pages) and chapbook-length poetry collections (28–47 pages). The work must be unpublished as a complete collection; previously self-published books are not eligible, though individual poems may have appeared in journals or anthologies. Open internationally to English-language writers regardless of publication history. Multiple submissions are allowed, but each requires a separate fee.
Selected manuscripts receive publication, a $1,000 advance, a book launch, and national distribution with promotional support.
