Entries for those aged under 18 is free. Those aged 18 and over can pay £5 for one entry, or £10 for three.

There are four categories, each with their own prizes.

The Somerset Prize (£100) is awarded to the best submission from a Somerset based writer. The Open Prize (£100) is awarded to the best submission regardless of the writer’s geographic location.
