Event Details

The Future Scholar Foundation hosts monthly short story competitions for elementary and middle school students. Participate to win gift cards, have your story published on an international stage, and receive FREE feedback.

The Future Scholar Foundation is an international nonprofit platform with a mission to inspire students around the world to harness the magic of writing and facilitate impactful change in their lives and communities. They have impacted over 5,000 students from over 25 countries, and their work has been featured on The Seattle Times, NorthWest Asian Weekly, and ELA Brave and True. They have been supported by professionals from Stanford University, Yale University, The New York Times, and more.

All competitions open on the 1st and close on the 28th of every month. You can submit to our competitions as long as it is the 28th or earlier in your region.

Results are announced sometime the third week of the month.

We are keen to encourage quality, so suggest writers to check their stories before submitting using Prowritingaid. They have free and paid versions and are the best writing software we know to help improve grammar, readability and check for repetition, ‘sticky’ sentences and suggest alternatives.
