The April Showers Publishing Writing Competition is open for entries. The organizer is searching for original unpublished short stories written by UK residents.
Open to any fiction prose (except for horror) written in 2025. Complete, standalone short stories only – no first chapters, prologues or sequels. Word limit: 2,000 – 7,000.
Successful submissions will be published by April Showers Publishing as a perfect-bound paperback in a collection titled Midnight Streetlight (early 2026).
Prize: £0.005/ word. All rejected submissions will receive short feedback from the editors.
