The Ozma Book Awards / Fantasy Fiction Novel Writing Contest is organised by Chanticleer Book Reviews, a U.S.-based platform offering book awards, reviews, and editorial services. The competition recognises excellence in published and unpublished fantasy fiction novels, including sword and sorcery, high fantasy, and related subgenres.
Eligible entries include novels that are either published or unpublished manuscripts, written primarily in English. There is no thematic restriction beyond the broad fantasy fiction genre. Entries must be original and previously unpublished if submitted as manuscripts. Authors may submit multiple titles, each with a separate entry fee.
The competition is international, open to writers worldwide. Entries are evaluated by the Chanticleer awards team for originality, storytelling, world-building, and overall quality. Winners are announced online and may receive recognition, promotional features, or review opportunities through Chanticleer services.
Prizes:
- The Ozma Grand Prize Winner is named Chanticleer Reviews Best Fantasy Fiction Book of the Year, and goes on to compete for the Chanticleer Overall Grand Prize Best Book of the Year
- The Overall Grand Prize Winner is named Chanticleer Reviews Best Book of the Year, and awarded the $1000 prize.
- All Winners receive a Chanticleer Prize Package which includes a digital badge, a ribbon and a whole assortment of goodies.
