Event Details
The Anthology Nature Writing Competition 2026 is organised by Anthology Magazine, a lifestyle and creative publication based in Ireland that runs periodic writing awards. This competition invites writers to craft original, nature-themed non-fiction essays or creative reflections that explore aspects of the natural world, from close-to-home observations to broader environmental ideas.
Submissions must be original, previously unpublished works written in English with a maximum length of 1,500 words. There is no specified minimum word count beyond being a complete piece, and writers may submit multiple entries, each with a separate entry form and fee. Themes are open within the broad remit of nature and the environment; there is no fixed prompt. Entries must not have been published before in any other format.
The competition is international and open to writers of any age, nationality, or country of residence. Anthology magazine will judge entries and select the winner based on creativity, insight, and engagement with the natural world. The winning piece is eligible for publication in a future issue of Anthology.
The first-place winner receives €300 and publication in Anthology magazine.
