The North Street Book Prize 2026 is organised by Winning Writers, a U.S. nonprofit that runs international writing contests and supports authors through prizes with cash awards and publication exposure. This annual competition recognises excellence in book-length works across multiple categories including fiction, nonfiction, memoir, poetry, and genre fiction.
Eligible entries are original books in English that were published in 2025 (or are scheduled for publication by the entry deadline). Submissions may be from any genre that fits one of the prize categories; each title must be entered separately in the most appropriate category. Self-published books are eligible. Titles should have ISBNs and be available for purchase online or in print.
The competition is international, open to authors worldwide whose books meet the publication and eligibility criteria. Judging is done by panels of literary professionals and past winners; winners are announced on the Winning Writers site and across partner platforms.
Winning authors receive cash awards and publication exposure via Winning Writers’ promotional channels.
