Event Details
The Nimrod International Journal (a literary journal founded in 1956 at The University of Tulsa, Oklahoma) is now accepting submissions for the 46th Nimrod Literary Awards – The Katherine Anne Porter Prize for Fiction & The Pablo Neruda Prize for Poetry. The Nimrod Literary Awards are open internationally.
- Fiction: 7,500 words maximum (one short story or a self-contained excerpt from a novel).
- Poetry: 3-10 pages. One long poem or several shorter poems.
Entries must NOT have been previously published or accepted for publication.
The winners will also take part in a virtual Awards Ceremony and reading in the fall of the contest year. All finalists in fiction and poetry will be published and paid at the standard publication rate of $10/page. Semi-finalists in poetry will also be published and paid at the standard publication rate.
We are keen to encourage quality submissions, so suggest writers to check their stories before submitting using Prowritingaid. They have free and paid versions and are the best writing software we know to help improve grammar, readability and check for repetition, ‘sticky’ sentences and suggest alternatives.
