The best short story and essay will both be published in The Georgia Review. We invite writers from all backgrounds to submit. Submissions fee includes a one-year subscription to The Georgia Review. Current subscribers will receive a one-year renewal.
A prize of $1500 will be given to the overall winner, chosen between the two, and the runner-up will receive $600. Simultaneous submissions are permitted; however, writers must notify us immediately if the work is accepted elsewhere. All entries will be considered for publication.
The 2024 Georgia Review Prose Prize judge is Danielle Evans!
We are keen to encourage quality submissions, so suggest writers to check their stories before submitting using Prowritingaid. They have free and paid versions and are the best writing software we know to help improve grammar, readability and check for repetition, ‘sticky’ sentences and suggest alternatives.
