The organizer welcomes stories in all genres: literary, historic, crime, romance, gritty realism, contemporary, humour and more. It is an opportunity for unpublished writers to shine, get noticed and get published. Entries must not have been previously published in print or online, been broadcast or won a prize.

Publication is offered to authors of the top twenty stories in The Edinburgh Anthology, published annually.

Shortlisted and longlisted stories will be revealed by 10 August 2025. All entrants will be informed. Winners will be announced at the Edinburgh Writing Awards Dinner held at the Scottish Arts Club in Edinburgh on the last Saturday in September.
