Event Details

The competition is organized by The Masters Review, an American literary magazine and book publisher. The competition is open to emerging writers.

The organizer welcomes submissions of previously unpublished fiction or creative nonfiction up to 6,000 words. Bret Anthony Johnston, author of the new novel We Burn Daylight, will select this year’s winners.

Entries should be in English.

Submitted work must be previously unpublished. This includes personal blogs, social media accounts, and other websites.

The first-place winner will receive a $3,000 grand prize, while the second- and third-place winners will receive $300 and $200 respectively. All entries will be published online.

We are keen to encourage quality, so suggest writers to check their stories before submitting using Prowritingaid. They have free and paid versions and are the best writing software we know to help improve grammar, readability and check for repetition, ‘sticky’ sentences and suggest alternatives.
