The Adrienne Rich Award for Poetry is an annual prize administered by the Beloit Poetry Journal, supported by the Adrienne Rich Literary Trust. It celebrates poetry that embodies the boldness, creativity, and social engagement championed by Adrienne Rich herself. Applicants submit their work for both the chance to win $1,500 and for consideration in publication by BPJ.
Submit 1-3 unpublished poems on any subject in any style up to a maximum of 10 pages per entry.
Finalists will be notified in the summer; the winner will be announced and published in the Fall issue of the BPJ. All entries are considered for publication in Beloit Poetry Journal, even if they do not win.
A limited number of fee waivers are available for those facing financial hardship – contact the organizer for more information.
