Calibre Audio is a UK-based charity providing an audiobook lending service to anyone with a print disability and last year in celebration of their 50th year they launched the ‘Inclusive Voices’ Short Story competition. Due to its success, the organizer is holding the event again this year.
This year’s competition to coincide with HiVis fortnight happening in the first two weeks of June where public libraries across the UK have the opportunity to highlight services and support for those with print disabilities. This theme is incorporated into this years competition.
Inclusive Voices is free to enter and open to all ages with the only criteria being the entry must be 550 words or less and mention ABC – Audio, Braille and/or community as part of the story or poem. Submissions can be in written, audio or video format and the competition runs until 5th September.
Full details with terms and conditions and how to enter can be found on the organizer’s website. Entries will be judged by a panel of expert writers and there will be prizes for winners in each category including an Echo Dot for first prize winners.
