Minotaur Books/Mystery Writers of America First Crime Novel Competition

Minotaur Books and Mystery Writers of America (MWA) invite aspiring crime writers to submit unpublished manuscripts for the 2026 First Crime Novel Competition.

This international contest is open to writers 18 and older who have never published a novel in any genre and are not currently under contract with a publisher. Eligible submissions should be full-length crime or mystery novels that showcase compelling storytelling and originality.

The winner will receive a publishing contract with Minotaur Books and a $10,000 advance against future royalties.
