Event Details
The Marsh Hawk Press Poetry Prizes 2026 are organised by Marsh Hawk Press, an independent U.S. press dedicated to publishing poetry and supporting poets through annual manuscript contests. The prizes recognise excellence in unpublished book-length poetry manuscripts and include multiple awards judged by a notable poet, with publication and cash prizes.
Submissions must be in English and consist of original poetry manuscripts between 48 and 84 pages (single-spaced), typed in at least 12-point font with a table of contents. The collection as a whole must be unpublished; individual poems previously published in magazines, anthologies, or chapbooks under 25 pages are permitted. Manuscripts should be submitted electronically via Submittable, with no personal identification within the manuscript itself to ensure blind judging.
The competition is international, open to both emerging and established poets worldwide. Winners are selected by judge Denise Duhamel from a group of finalists, and announcements are made following the close of submissions.
Is this competition legit?YES! – Based on our research this event is legitimate and the organizer is well established. However, as with any event, please remember to do your own research before submitting your work.
