The Marlowe & Christie Novel Prize competition opened on 5th October 2025, with an early-bird discount available until 5th November, and closes on 5th January 2026. The first prize is £1,200, and writers need only submit the opening 3,000 words of their novel.
The top three finalists will receive feedback from Alec Shane, agent with Writers House, Jenny Hewson, agent with Lutyens and Rubinstein and Katie Seamen, Developmental Editor and former Commissioning Editor for HQ – a fantastic opportunity for writers seeking representation.
The top ten finalists will receive feedback from Patrick Gleeson, Bedford Square author of ‘Hattie Brings the House Down’ and ‘Hattie Steals the Show’
Optional feedback packages have been improved significantly. Entrants can choose to receive professional feedback ranging from a one-paragraph assessment to a full page of feedback plus a 20-minute Zoom consultation. Thanks to the generosity of associates, the organizer is able to offer this at well below commercial rates.
