The Gutsy Great Novelist Page One Prize is awarded for an outstanding first page of an unpublished novel.
The prize is open internationally to anyone over 18 writing a novel in English in any genre for adult or YA readers. Both previously unpublished and published writers are eligible to submit their work.
Entries may be in any genre, written for adult readers—this does include young adult novels that adults would typically read, but does not include middle-grade fiction.
Hosted by author and writing teacher Joan Dempsey of Gutsy Great Novelist, this prize is in its 6th year.
