The Edinburgh Short Story Award welcomes stories in all genres: literary, historic, crime, romance, gritty realism, contemporary, humour and more. For writers worldwide and stories on any topic up to 2,000 words.
Bursaries for free entry are available for talented, under-represented writers
The prizewinners, including the winner of the first prize of £3,000, are chosen by international best-selling author Christopher Brookmyre and Marisa Haetzman. Publication is offered to authors of the top twenty stories in The Edinburgh Anthology, published annually.
Winners will be announced at the Edinburgh Writing Awards Dinner held at the Scottish Arts Club in Edinburgh on the last Saturday in September.
