De LYON WORLD is hosting their Third Annual Writing Competition, a platform dedicated to promoting creativity, storytelling, and the next generation of writers. The 2024 competition theme is “Black”.

In this year’s horror anthology series, “Black” represents more than just a color. It symbolizes the unknown, the hidden fears, the dark recesses of the mind where nightmares come to life. It is the void where shadow meets terror, where horror thrives, unseen and untouched, but ever-present. “Black” is the space between safety and chaos, a realm where the supernatural, psychological torment, and existential dread lurk. We invite you to explore these unsettling themes and submit stories that will chill readers to their core, invoking the deepest essence of fear.

The competition is open to writers worldwide. Entrants must be at least 18 years old. All submissions must be within the horror genre, fitting the theme “Black.” Submissions should be in English.

All entries must be original and previously unpublished.

While this competition does not offer cash prizes, all selected entries will be featured in the De LYON WORLD Horror Anthology Series. Each chosen author will receive a certificate of achievement and a free copy of the anthology.
