Cai Emmons Short Fiction Contest

The Cai Emmons Short Fiction Contest offers opportunities to celebrate diverse voices from Oregon and Washington, nurture emerging talent, and promote storytelling aligned with Cai’s values and literary vision. It’s hosted by Wordcrafters in Eugene, a literary arts nonprofit organization, empowering writers of all ages to tell their stories.

The Cai Emmons Short Fiction Contest is open to writers living in Oregon and Washington states. Submit an origial short fiction piece between 1,000 and 3,000 words, reflecting themes central to Cai Emmons’ work including interconnectedness, women’s issues, grief and loss, family dynamics, environmental and climate concerns, magical realisim, and women’s experiences and identities.
