The Gorko Gazette is an independent online humour publication founded in the mid-1990s by Wisconsin-born writer Colin “Raddy” Gee, who now operates it from southern Mexico. After a hiatus of several years it was relaunched in its current daily online format and has been publishing continuously since 2021, putting out roughly 30 pieces per month. The Gazette is a proudly eccentric outlet devoted entirely to comedy, publishing fake news headlines, one-panel cartoons, spoof film reviews, humorous poetry, flash and micro fiction, and other miscellaneous oddities. It has a distinct voice — absurdist, deadpan, and cheerfully unhinged — and currently ranks among Fiction on the Web’s top 100 independent literary magazines. The publication also runs occasional themed special issues and a weekly preview newsletter.
The Gorko Gazette accepts original, previously unpublished, non-AI-generated submissions across all its categories — fake headlines, cartoons, mock reviews, poetry, and fiction (micro or flash only). Submissions are sent directly by email, either in the body of the email or as a .doc attachment, along with a short third-person bio and author photo if desired. No payment is offered beyond social media promotion, and the publication asks for one-time and archival rights while all other rights remain with the author.
