PhysiOdyssey is an open-access creative writing journal based at the University of Glasgow, sitting at the intersection of science and creativity. The journal gives writers, students, and scientists a platform to engage with physiological concepts through original, thought-provoking creative work, publishing short fiction, poetry, and graphic narratives that explore the human body through imaginative and literary forms. Contributors are asked to pair their creative work with a short scientific statement grounding it in current understanding of the topic.
The journal particularly encourages submissions from students, early-career and novice writers, and interdisciplinary or science-adjacent creators, with a broader aim of promoting creativity in science and public engagement with physiology beyond traditional academic formats.
