Till now, reality television has been dominated by cooking shows and romance competitions. However, it’s finally time for writers to shine. Write or Flight, the world’s first reality competition for writers, offers one lucky winner a publishing deal and a $10,000 advance.

Seven lucky contestants will be flown to Cusco, Peru where they will participate in a variety of adventures, which they will then attempt to describe on the page. They’ll read their work out loud to a panel of judges. In each episode one writer will be eliminated until a winner is finally crowned.

The winner will receive a year’s worth of coaching from Memoir Writing for Geniuses to help them write a memoir. Their memoir will be published by Parentheses Press and they’ll receive a $10,000 advance for their efforts.

Applications for Season 1 are now open and close on February 28, 2025.
