Event Details
The contest is organized by the César Egido Serrano Foundation based in Madrid, Spain. This contest is the best endowed by word in the world with a first prize of $20,000 and three second prizes of $2,000 each.
The competition is open to anyone over the age of 14.
In the last edition, 43,185 authors from 172 countries participated in the contest.
Writers can enter the competition in Spanish, English, Arabic or Hebrew language, and the stories can only have a maximum of 100 words.
The choice of topic is free.
Entries must not have been previously published or have won a prize in another competition.
The competition is free to enter.
We are keen to encourage quality submissions, so suggest writers to check their stories before submitting using Prowritingaid. They have free and paid versions and are the best writing software we know to help improve grammar, readability and check for repetition, ‘sticky’ sentences and suggest alternatives.
