Event Details

The George Floyd Short Story Competition II is open for UK and international entries, from all writers, until March 31st 2022.

Global warming is the big issue of the day, disproportionately affecting developing nations and as the Western world heats up, will likely be the greatest challenge future generations face. We can’t think of a better or worthier topic for writers to explore.

Entrants are free to write in any genre, even take contrarian views, it merely has to be original and considering the calibre of entries last year – good.

Speaking of free, just like last year there is no fee to take part and we offering cash prizes to every successful applicant plus publication in our next anthology.

All profits made on the sale of the anthology will be donated to the World Food Programme. One of the most devastating effects of climate change is the destruction of arable farming land leading to famine and displacement of vulnerable people. This anthology will make a modest, but hopeful step in trying to help this very worthwhile cause.
