The César Egido Serrano Foundation has convened the Fifth International Flash Fiction Competition. The prize of $20,000 to the winning story will make it the biggest prize of micro stories in the world; with three prizes of $2,000 each for the best stories in each of the languages in the contest. In addition to the Spanish language, the stories can be entered in English, Arabic, and Hebrew.

In the V edition, 43,185 authors from 172 countries participated in the contest. On this occasion and as the main novelty, it will be the participants themselves who will have the opportunity and responsibility to choose the winners, through a computerized, random and anonymous voting system.

The contest will be open for the reception of micro-stories from May 27 to September 30, at which time we will begin the voting round that will last 30 days from the closing date.
