Organised by Pitch Magazine, the Pitch Mag Young Sports Journalist Competition 2025 is open to aspiring journalists aged 14 to 21 years old attending school, college or university in the UK.
Participants can submit articles discussing one of the questions listed on the organizer’s website.
- 14-15 year olds: Is darts a game or a sport?
- 16-17 year olds: Should the Olympics introduce prize money?
- 18-19 year olds: Should junk food companies be allowed to sponsor sport?
- 20-21 year olds: Is fan ownership of sports teams a good idea?
Winning entries will be published online and printed in the Summer Issue of Pitch. Critiqued by the panel of accomplished judges, winners will also receive a £50 cash prize and be offered work experience at PITCH HQ.
Entries must be a minimum of 700 words and no more than 800 words, excluding headings and entrant information. You must answer one of the questions in your age group.
