The final Fosseway competition of 2023 is now open! Your challenge is to write a short story on the theme of “The Wreck”. What that wreck may be is entirely up to you.
Our judge is A.E. Warren, an author we discovered some years ago at Newark Book Festival where she was selling her debut, self-published novel. Fast forward a few years and she had her four-book series (Tomorrow’s Ancestors) published by Del Ray. A terrific dystopian story encompassing pre-historic lives resurrected through biotechnology it has elements of Jurassic Park – but with Neanderthals and totalitarian elitism. Fundamentally though, it’s a series about belonging and finding out who you are.
Deadline is midnight on Saturday 21st October and stories must be between 1500-2500 words. Full details are on our Competitions page. Good luck!
