Event Details

The Eyelands Book Awards is the one and only international books contest based in Greece. They have opened their contest for sixth consecutive year now and are seeking for talented writers from all over the world.

The Eyelands Book Award is an international contest that gives the opportunity to a writer to win a great prize; a holiday in Athens, Greece, where he/she will have the chance to talk about his/her work to Greek readers and meet Greek writers in a special ceremony. This is the grand prize for writers who have already published their book. But there’s more. Eyelands Book Awards also gives the opportunity to an unpublished writer to win a contract and see her/his book published from Strange Days Books.

  • Grand prizepublished books: Five-day staying in Athens plus a special handmade ceramic designed especially for Eyelands Book Awards and publication (excerpts) online on our website.
  • Grand prize (unpublished books) Translation into Greek and publication from Strange Days Books
  • Ten more prizes, one for each category of every section, also win a handmade ceramic designed especially for Eyelands Book Awards and a book from Strange Days books!

Eligible submissions include: poetry, novellas, short story collections, novels, children’s books, historical fiction/memoir, graphic novels.

Open to writers of any nationality. Manuscripts must be written in English.

We are keen to encourage quality submissions, so suggest writers to check their stories before submitting using Prowritingaid. They have free and paid versions and are the best writing software we know to help improve grammar, readability and check for repetition, ‘sticky’ sentences and suggest alternatives.
