The theme of the writing competition is Children’s Stories. Children’s stories have a unique ability to move us with their simplicity and their capacity to handle profound messages. Every day we subconsciously -or consciously- draw on the lessons we learned from the stories our parents told us. We tell these stories to our own children and to share the same clarity of the world.

In the month of December, we often see the world through the hope filled eyes of children. And the December writing competition is here to celebrate exactly that. Submit your best children’s stories or stories about children. Take us back to our childhoods. Share stories that talk about the things we wish we could have known growing up – stories that talk about what it means to be a child and what it means to stop being a child.

Please submit any short stories, poetry, and/or essays related to children’s stories. The competition is free to enter.

We are keen to encourage quality submissions, so suggest writers to check their stories before submitting using Prowritingaid. They have free and paid versions and are the best writing software we know to help improve grammar, readability and check for repetition, ‘sticky’ sentences and suggest alternatives.
