The Missouri Review, an American literary magazine, is currently accepting submissions for the 33rd Jeffrey E. Smith Editors’ Prize. There are three categories – fiction, poetry, and nonfiction.
Writers can submit one piece of fiction or nonfiction up to 8,500 words or any number of poems up to 10 pages.
Entries must be previously unpublished.
The competition is open to writers worldwide. All entries must be accompanied by a $25 entry fee.
Each entrant receives a one-year subscription to the Missouri Review in digital format.
We are keen to encourage quality submissions, so suggest writers to check their stories before submitting using Prowritingaid. They have free and paid versions and are the best writing software we know to help improve grammar, readability and check for repetition, ‘sticky’ sentences and suggest alternatives.
