Clare Banks was a broadcast journalist for the BBC in the West of England for many years, reporting and presenting for TV, radio and online. Seeking a change from news, she recently left to pursue a different line of creativity. Since then, she has made films, worked as a press officer and done the odd freelance news-reading shift. But her real passion is writing fiction. Her first foray into published work won her a runners-up prize in the 2013 Readers Digest 100-word short story competition. She has had stories accepted by women’s magazines, blogs about her journey as a writer and is currently seeking an agent for her first novel. In her spare time, she does yoga and plays bass guitar in a rock band.
